Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam


Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam, was the 11th President of India, from 2002 to 2007.He was a great personality, much beyond words.He glorified this nation in many respects whose achievements will always be remembered.He was a light, guide and an inspiration for the new generation who urged them to dream high and achieve their goals.He was a people's President, simple, humble and mingled with the common man.He was a true patriot and loved by all Indians alike.He was recipient of 'Bharat Ratna', 'Padma Vibhushan, 'Padma Bhushan' and 30 honorary doctorate from many Universities and Institutions.He was one of India's most eminent Scientists who made all Indians proud to be an Indian.His momories and quotes will be inspirational for ever.

K.P.P. Nambiar

K.P.P.Nambiar was a brilliant scholar, an expert in the field of Electronics,Technocrat,Industrialist and an  innovative person who was responsible for bringing up Kerala to the forefront in the fields of Electronics and Computer technology.He was the founding Chairman of 'Keltron' in Kerala and also who set up 'Techno park' in Thiruvanathapuram.
K.P.P.Nambiar (Kunnath Puthenveettil Padmanabhan Nambiar) was born on 15th April 1929 at Kalliassery, in Kannur,Herala State.After graduating  from Pachayyappa's College in Madras, he joined the Imperial College of Science and Technology,University of London for higher studies and specialized in Transistors and Semi Conductors.He was holding the degrees and diplomas  like 'M.Sc(Lon), DIC(Lon),FIEE(London),C Engg (Lon) and he served as Research Scholar in Semi Conductor technology at Imperial College from 1954 to 57.He worked at Texas,USA up to 1963 and came back to India.
Up to 1973 he worked in top positions of many prestigious organisations like 'Indian Institute of Technology New Delhi,Project Manager at Philips India,General Manager of 'Nelco' and so on.
In 1973 he was responsible for the formation of 'Kerala State Electonics Development Corporation Ltd' (Keltron) and became the founding Chairman and was in that  position till 1983. He continued as the Executive Chairman till 1985.
Then he served as the Chairman of the Indian Telephone Industries Limited  and next year he was  appointed as the Secretary, Department of Electronics,Govt. of India and worked in this position till 1989.In 1989 he was appointed as the Honorary Special Advisor to Govt. pf Kerala on Industries. 
India's first Electronic Technology Park (Techno Park ) was set up at Thiruvananthapuram during  that period.
K.P.P. Nambiar had several fantastic innovative ideas and he was successful by taking electronics to the remote  villages.He initiated to start women's co-operative units and many of the electronics consumer products of Keltron were assembled in such units by giving employment to several thousand people.
He started  Electronic firms like ' Namtech Electonic Services Limited' at Bangalore and was it's Chairman also.
K.P.P.Nambiar was a true patriot and one who loved Kerala utmost. He




wanted the progress of the State in a big manner.His contributions to the development of Electronics and Computer technology in India and especially in Kerala  would be ever remembered.
K.P.P.Nambiar passed away on 30  June 2015 at Bangalore.He was 86.

E.V.Krishna Pillai

E.V.Krishna Pillai was a well Known literary  writer  from Kerala  who authored and published large number of books  in Malayalam Language.He was an acclaimed satirist writer and through his numerous essays of social criticism mixed up with humor he tried for a massive change in the society.

There were  only a few successful writers in Malayalam who could handle humor in a successful manner in literature, and the  most prominent among them were the legend 'Kunchan Nambiar' who wrote large number of poetry books and also formed the art form 'Ottan Thullal'.
In the early 20th century E.V.Krishna Pillai and Sanjayan were the two eminent writers who entered with their satirist essays which helped to eradicate several evils prevailed in the society.
E.V.Krishna Pillai was also an advocate, stage actor etc.
He was born on 14th September 1894 at Kunnathur in Kollam District to parents Pappu Pillai and Karthiyayani Amma.
His primary schooling was done at Periganad, and continued his school studies at Thumpamon and at Alappuzha.He studied for intermediate course at CMS College Kottayam, and studid for degree course at University College, Thiruvananthapuram.
He started his career as a clerk in Taluk Office and later became Assistant Tehsildar (Taluk Officer) at Kalkulam.He passed Bachelor of Law in 1923 and started to practice law as an advocate at Thiruvanathapuram and Kollam.
He also worked as the Editor of the publication 'Malayali' and also the Editor of 'Malayala Manorama weekly'.
He became a member of Travancore Legislative Council in 1931.
He married  Maheswari Amma who was the youngest daughter of Eminent Malayalam Novelist C.V.Raman Pillai in 1919.His eldest son was the popular actor of Malayalam and Tamil films 'Chandraji'.His second son was the well known comedy actor 'Adoor Bhasi' his third son handled the cartoon column 'Kunchu Kurup' in Malayala Manorama Newspaper.
E.V.Krishna Pillai helped his Father-in-Law C.V.Raman Pillai in the creation of his historical novel 'Ramaraja Bahadoor' by writing down it while C.V.Raman Pillai dictated it from his mind.This experience also kindled the imaginative power which helped him to became a literary writer later.
E.V.Krishna Pillai through his stories and essays wanted to create comedy scenes to make the readers amused and laugh and not bothered or focused on the realism of those creations.By reading his books the readers get a clear picture of those periods.
He wrote 14 stage plays like 'Seethalakshmi, Rajakesavadasan, Iravikutti Pillai, Pranaya Kakiyan, Vivaha Kammattam,B.A.Mayavi' etc.
'Iravikutti Pillai,Raja Kesava Dasan,Seetha Lakshmi' were dramas with historical themes.
'Chiriyum Chinthayum' is a widely read book which contains his satirist essays mixed with humor.
Adoor Bhasi
E.V.Krishna Pillai was such a personality who viewed everything with a sense of humor and comedy.
He also wrote autobiography titled 'Jeevitha Smaranakal' which is also a well acclaimed earlier Biographies in Malayalam Language.
This great personality died at an early age of 44 on March 30, 1938.
During the initial stage of his acting career Adoor Bhasi with some other actors met the then Chief Minister 'Pattom Thanu Pillai' regarding some  cinema matters of those days.Pattom Thanu Pillai was not knowing Adoor Bhasi at that period since he  was  not very popular and familiar to everybody.When Adoor Bhasi introduced himself Pattom Thanu Pillai advised him not to spoil his father's name and  the well reputed social image of E.V.Krishna Pillai.







Adoor Bhasi perhaps but earned more popularity than his father in later years as the 'Comedy Emperor ' of Malayalam Cinema.
